interior car design

What is it that makes a luxury car so special? The design? The performance? Well those are certainly fundamental parts of it, but the overriding factor is the interior. Luxury cars are exactly that because they are genuinely nice places to be in. And the same goes for every other type of car, you don’t sit on it, you sit in it, so you want the interior to be as nice as possible!

From the type of upholstery to the position of the driver’s seat, the interior of a car should be as comfortable as possible. Only stripped out, almost naked racing cars need function over form, every other motor should be relaxing to drive. This means you want feel great and look at something appealing. Getting into a car everyday and thinking “god this is ugly” really won’t make your driving experience much fun.

When buying a new car, people spend hours choosing tiny little details such as the type of gearstick or whether the sun visors have mirrors. This is all well and good, but for the second hand car buyer who is there to pay less, it’s not really a problem. It’s a simple choice- what colour interior? Black. OK, let’s have a look.

One of the best places to shop for second hand cars is the internet. There’s a huge selection of cars, from 4x4s to family cars with enough variation on interior design to make even Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen happy. While clicking a button online as to the colour you want, it’s always advisable to see it in person because things have a habit of being somewhat different to what’s being advertised. After all, you’re the one that has to sit in the car every day!

You don’t need an art degree to know what a great interior looks like. If it makes you happy and raises a smile, then it’s all good. If anyone disagrees with your choice, that’s their problem. Just remember Andy Warhol once produced some eyebrow raising paintings and he’s now considered a design genius. It’s personal preference people!
